MSU suggests routes to help new and returning students navigate closed and one-way streets

Bozeman — Montana State University is suggesting routes that will help students moving to   campus Aug. 24-26 to navigate traffic patterns changed for the move-in period as well as to avoid Bozeman streets closed due to construction.
MSU officials have notified all incoming freshmen with instructions for efficient alternate routes http://www.montana.edu/reslife/pdfs/Move-in%20Day%20Map.pdf.
MSU expects that more than 2,500 students will move in to university residence halls during the traditional three-day move-in day period.
The largest number of students moving into MSU residence halls will be moving into the group of residence halls in the southwest corner of campus: North and South Hedges, Roskie, Freshmen Apartments and Hedges Suites. The university suggests that those students take the S. 19th exit from I-90 and proceed to campus south via S. 19th Avenue.
Students moving into the Freshmen Apartments may turn left on College Street and right (south) on South 15th Avenue to access their residences.
Students moving into Roskie and Hedges Suites are asked to turn left on Lincoln Road where signs will direct them to their destination.
Students moving into North and South Hedges are asked to proceed south two blocks farther, to Kagy Boulevard. They are to turn left at the traffic light on Kagy Boulevard, then left again on S. 11th, and then left again on Grant Street.  Attendants will direct those arriving to where they may park to unload their belongings. South 12th Avenue in front of the Hedges complex will be one-way northbound between Grant and Garfield for the move-in period.
Bozeman street construction has closed South 8th Avenue near College Street, normally a heavily used street for students moving to campus housing in the north and east sectors of campus. The university suggests that students moving into the Langford, Mullan, Colter, Pryor, Hapner and Hannon residence halls or the Quads, access campus either through the S. 7th Street exit from I-90 or the E. Main Street I-90 exit
Those coming south on S. 7th Avenue  should turn left on Main Street and proceed to South Willson Avenue, where they should turn right, and then right again on Harrison Street.   Students moving into Langford, Mullan, Colter and Pryor should proceed across 8th Street and into parking near those residence halls.  Students moving into Hapner, Hannon and the Quads can turn left on 8th  Street and then left on Cleveland to access those residence halls either from Cleveland Street or from S. 7th Avenue. Cleveland Steet between 8th and 5th avenues will be one way, eastbound.
Those accessing MSU by exiting on the E. Main exit should turn left at the light on Highland and right on Kagy Boulevard, then right on Willson to Harrison Street. Turn left.  Students moving into Langford, Mullan, Colter and Pryor should proceed across 8th Street and into parking near those residence halls.  Students moving into Hapner, Hannon and the Quads can turn left on 8th and then left on Cleveland to access those residence halls either from Cleveland Street or from S. 7th Avenue.. Cleveland Street between 8th and 5th avenues will be one way, eastbound.
Those streets with directional changes will be in effect from 8 a.m. through 6 p.m. Aug. 24-26.
