We Are Still Ready for Some Football

Jack Thorsen – 10 Year Old Sports Blogger

As everyone knows the #7 Bobcats lost to the Grizzlies 36-10. Thats not good. That makes them 7-1 in the Big Sky and 9-2 overall – the same with Montana. Was the cold a factor? It was only 7 degrees. Thats what I asked Akpla and he said; “no weather was not a factor.” After the game coach Rob Ash said the problems in the Griz game was poor execution all around the football. What a tough day for coach Ash and the Bobcats. I thought the Cats had a chance in the start of the 2nd half after scoring the would be only touchdown of the game for the Bobcats. The Griz came back the very next play with a 79 yard TD touch down pass. That was probably the most disappointing thing I have seen all season. I think the Cats may have came  to the game a little  over confident -  or was it the cold  weather – or the new Helments? I dont know. But the Grzzlies are a hard team to beat. I hope with all the disappointment of the loss to Montana the Cats can put that behind them and focus on the playoff. The Bobcats will play  #12 NEW HAMPSHIRE. The last time the Cats played UNH was in 1976. The Cats won in New Hampshire, football coach Sean McDonnell laughed when he saw the matchup in his team’s locker room Sunday. UNH at Montana State. McDonnell started in the defensive backfield when the Wildcats last played Montana State in 1976, in the quarter finals of the Division II tournament. UNH lost 17-16 and it was a cold game too. The Bobcats have had what it takes to win all season they just need to execute better on the offensive side of the ball. The line needs to pick up the blocks to help Kirk and  Robinson to find the holes they have been running through all season. Mcghee has to be careful in the passing game and find the receivers. The defense will have to work on not giving up so many points and get rested for the game. The big thing they need to get  ready for is stopping the UNH passing game.

I looked at their stats and this looks like the best passing team we will play this season. UNH is not a big running team and plays to the air more than ground. The Cats safety’s will have to play strong to keep the air game under control.
Bobcats coach Rob Ash told me that getting a home game and a bye improves the team’s chances.

I think if the Cats get back to the way they played all season and execute plays well they can win against UNH. This is a tough one to pick – Bobcats 36 / UNH – a close one.

If the Cats win they will play the winner of the  Stony Brook at (1) Sam Houston State Game. I hope Stony Brook wins, that means we could have more playoff games at Bobcats stadium. The Grizzlies need to lose to Central Arkansas or we could play the Grizzlies in Missoula on the road to the FCS championship.

Its not going to be on TV, so if you want play by play and real time pictures of the game and fans….
