The Emerson is pleased to present a fun season of Summer ArtCamps for children ages 4-13.

Emerson’s ArtCamps include exciting projects in pottery, drawing, journaling, printmaking, painting, sculpture collage and mixed media. Children will also participate in outdoor recreation, and experience tours of the Emerson galleries. Emerson’s ArtCamps are taught by trained arts educators including K-12 certified teacher Katie Brickley and professional ceramic artist Vanessa Rogers assisted by art student interns from Montana State University. For children ages 8-13 one-week camps will be held June 17-21, June 24-28, July 8-12, July 22-26 and August 5-9.  The camps run from 9 am to 3 pm, Mondays – Fridays. During the mornings children enjoy clay projects in Emerson’s Pottery and afternoons are spent creating innovative art projects in the Emerson’s Classroom or on educational field trips. All art materials are provided. Weekly costs are $140 for Emerson family members or $165 for non-members. Parents will provide snacks, lunches and beverages for their children. Fun class projects include stained glass window replicas, clay whistles, self portraits, folk art using found materials and a class mural. Camp will include field trips and outside recreational activities.

 

For children ages 4-8 the Emerson is offering a new Little Kids ArtCamp, Monday – Friday, 9am -11:30 am with fun, age-appropriate art activities taught by Katie Brickley. All art materials are provided and weekly costs are $77 for Emerson members or $90 for non-members. Parents will provide snacks and beverages for their children. Four sessions are offered: June 17 – 21; June 24 – 28; July 8 – 12 or July 22 – 26. Students will experience a variety of art media including drawing, painting, mixed media collage, a personal sketchbook, storytelling, and art appreciation. Projects include: folk art using found objects, hand made paper hats, large animal constructs, and stained glass window replicas. Children will enjoy a student art show on the final day of class.
