One Book One Bozeman: Fair Fiction

Join us for a One Book One Bozeman lecture with MSU Historian, and Director of the Humanitites Institute, Bob Rydell!

From their beginnings with the London's Crystal Palace Exhibition in 1851, world's fairs have excited the imagination of novelists, including Charles Dickens, Hans Christian Andersen, Charles Baudelaire, William Dean Howells, Marietta Holley, E. L. Doctorow, and Erik Larson. This "illustrated" (to use the nineteenth-century term) talk will address the intersections of ideology, utopia, and fun.
