Larry Abramson, a former dean of the journalism school at the University of Montana who was also a longtime NPR journalist, will speak at the Burton K. Wheeler Center lecture set for April 3. “Can Facts Alone Save Us? Redefining Journalism in an Era of Change” will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting space at the Springhill Suites in Bozeman. The Wheeler Center is located at Montana State University.

Abramson, who is currently a special adviser to the provost at UM, will draw on his experiences and discuss journalism in an era of change and its role in today’s political and social landscape. Tickets are $10 per person and registration is required as space is limited.

Abramson covered stories on topics ranging from national security and foreign affairs to education. In addition to his role as an editor and correspondent, Abramson has also been deeply involved in supporting the development of the profession of journalism, including leading NPR’s Diversity Initiative and conducting workshops on reporting.
