Author & Cohousing Expert Katie McCamant

Bozeman Cohousing is kicking off their project this January with a free public presentation by Katie McCamant, their development consultant and cofounder of the North American Cohousing movement. The cohousing concept was brought to the US in the 1980s by architects Katie McCamant and Charles Durrett, who, after studying the movement in Denmark, published the seminal book “Cohousing: A Contemporary Approach to Housing Ourselves”. Erik Bonnett, a member of Bozeman Cohousing as well as the project’s architect, worked for several years in the same office as Katie and has collaborated with her on several cohousing projects. “If you have ever been curious about sustainable communities or cohousing, the opportunity to meet Katie is not to be missed” said Bonnett. He continued “she was instrumental in starting cohousing in the United States and continues to be an important leader in the movement.” This will be a free, open to the public event and an opportunity to hear from and meet Katie McCamant, a foremost expert on cohousing. Katie will give a presentation followed by Q&A and chatting about all things cohousing. This will be a kid friendly event and children’s activities will be provided. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served.
