LEGO Robotics at the Library!

Thanks to Heather Watson, school-age kids can learn about coding, engineering and robotics with Lego WeDo 2.0 at the Library this winter. These free workshops will be held the last Monday of the month from January to April, starting at 4pm in the large Community Room.

  • Pre-registration required
  • Open to all elementary aged students 
  • One Session per Student

Jan 27th: Spinning Top Launcher

Come build a spinning top launcher and top with LEGOs.  Can your top spin the longest? Can it knock another top out of the circle?

Feb 24th: Hill Climb   Register Here

Help! There’s a skier at the top of the mountain that needs help!  Can you build a robot suited to climb the icy mountains and rescue the skier? 

Mar 30th: BattleBots

Learn to build, code, and modify a battle robot and then go head to head with other robots in the battle bot arena.  Can you push the other bot out of the arena first?

Apr 27th: To the Moon

Determine a problem we would face with living on the moon and design a model to help our future astronauts! Maybe you’ll make a rover, an alien detection system or whatever you wish to engineer and code with Legos!
