Benefit for Montana Kids With Cancer

The people of Bozeman have always given what they can to help their neighbors in this close-knit community. Certain folks who make up the local music scene are no different. After doctors found a tumor the size of a cantaloupe inside Stella Blue Wood’s little four-year old tummy, she was rushed to Seattle, where the tumor was successfully removed, but Stella faces a long and difficult recovery from chemotherapy treatments.

Compound Productions, along with a group of friends of the Wood family are organizing a benefit for kids in Montana with cancer. This event will take place Saturday, January 21st at the Emerson Center whic is located at 111 South Grand Ave. in Bozeman, beginning at 4 pm with appetizers and a silent auction in the Ballroom, with music by Montana Rose. Dinner begins at 5 pm, with food donated by The Co-op, and chefs and servers from local restaurants lending their expertise. Tickets to this portion of the event are $20 advance; $25 at the door.

The benefit will also feature some of Bozeman’s local bands, including 10 Foot Tall & 80 Proof, Cure For The Common, The Dirty Shame, M.O.T.H., The Tyler James Brigade, Mathias and Friends, Public Library and more to be announced performing in the Crawford Theater also inside of the Emerson. Tickets for the concert are $20 advance, available at Cactus Records. Tickets at the door will be $25.

We are all pulling for Stella and hope that this dinner and benefit can help not only Stella, but all kids in Montana with cancer. All proceeds from the concert will go to a to-be-determined organization in Montana helping kids with cancer. The proceeds from the dinner and silent auction will go directly to the Wood family here in Bozeman. If you are a business owner or artist and would like to donate something for the silent auction, please contact Grant at (406) 209-3556 or email at comlbproductions@aol.com
