Samantha Hall – Sammy Jo was raised in Southern California, and Boise Idaho. Living in four different states, among nine cities she has found Bozeman to be centered in the most naturally inspiring areas. Picking up a camera less than six months ago, she found a new passion for capturing Bozeman via lens. Thanks to the camera, a three hour hike has turned into a five hour hike as she climbs trees or lays on the ground taking photos.

Oil painting has been her creative base, with images ranging from realism to graffiti art. Without formal training throughout high school and college, she was still acclaimed for her works.

Her mother, Patricia, was a huge influence. From a young age Sammy Jo was encouraged to be artistic in and out of the home. Her efforts ranged from spending time in her mother’s dark room to turning pieces of charcoal from fire pits into art. While attending the MSU equine program she plans to expand her knowledge with art courses.

When not bar tending at the Pour House, she is in her art room. While blasting classic rock sprinkled with Lindsey Sterling she has begun working on a “peace” series of paintings. Meanwhile she is constantly capturing images that will evolve into an art piece in the future.

Most of her time is spent with her best friends Dancer the Arabian and Oliver the French Bulldog, and hoop dancing. In all things she strives for the artist’s touch, while maintaining an infinite practice.

Her Moving ADD has been cured. Bozeman holds everything she needs to constantly discover new landscapes, while it forever offers inspiration. This year she plans to showcase her art, while attending art festivals to share her passion.
