Carrie Roy Photography

Carrie Roy was born in sunny Southern California. She lived there until her mom got tired of the hustle and bustle of big city life and moved the family to Three Forks, MT when Carrie was eleven. She has now lived in Montana for the past 17 years and is married and has two kids, Chance and Mackenzie. Carrie has always had a passion for photography and while growing up used to constantly record her and her friends antics with a camcorder and her old film camera. Nothing was ever sacred if she had her camera with her! This has carried on as she became an adult and now carries a camera with her wherever she goes. Whether it is her iPhone or trusty Nikon DSLR, she is always looking at life through a viewfinder, and she believes that is the best way to see things like you have never seen them before.

Carrie decided to pursue her dream of photography school in February 2013 after a lot of encouragement from her husband, family and friends. She is currently a student with the New York Institute of Photography, an at home/internet based school and is enjoying learning more about photography and expanding her knowledge so that she can open her own photography business when she has completed school. Along with being a student, mom, wife, and t- ball coach she takes photos for some of the Three Forks baseball teams, family and friends to constantly practice and hone her skills that she is learning while enrolled with NYIP. And of course, living in a beautiful place like Montana never disappoints the artist in her, because here there is something picture-worthy around almost every corner. When she isn’t photographing people she is hopping in her car and driving along the back roads to capture Montana’s vast landscape, animals and of course, the “Big Sky”.
