2013 Bozeman Tritons Triathlon is this Sunday
Area residents invited to cheer, volunteer and drive carefully
The 2013 Bozeman Tritons Triathlon will be held this Sunday, June 23 at the East Gallatin Recreation Area. 250 racers from 17 U.S. states and Auckland, New Zealand will be competing in this USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
Area residents are invited to come out and cheer on the participating triathletes. The long course race starts at 7:00 a.m. and the sprint race starts at 8:30 a.m. Course maps are available at http://www.bozemantritons.org/tritonstri/race-info/course-maps/.
There are no road closures for this race, but area drivers are encouraged to be extra vigilant for runners and cyclists on these roads Sunday morning:
From about 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. (cyclists): Manley Rd., E. Griffin Dr. and Bridger Canyon Dr. (Hwy 86) to Muddy Creek Rd.
From about 8:45 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (cyclists): Manley Rd., McIlhattan Rd., Sypes Canyon Rd., Summer Cutoff Rd., Saddle Mountain Rd., Walker Rd. and Saddle Peak Circle Rd.
From about 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. (runners): Manley Rd., McIlhattan Rd., Story Mill Rd., Deer Creek Dr., Lookfar Way, Overlook Ln., Rolling Hills Dr. and Sypes Canyon Rd.
The East Gallatin Recreation Area will remain open to the public throughout the day. Park users should expect congested parking conditions in the morning and be alert for runners and cyclists on trails and roads inside and outside the park until 4:00 p.m. Please do not park on Manley Rd.
