It’s Back! Bobcat Football
Jack Thorsen, 12 year old Bobcat Football writer, predicts the beginning of another good season.
That’s right; Bobcat football season is back. Montana State will play the Monmouth Hawks. This will be the first meeting between the 2 teams. I predict a very close game in the first half and a little bit into the 3rd quarter. The final score I think will be 31-10. I know it will be a rough game at the start. The Bobcats have to move on without some of their biggest players on defense last year. They lost Zach Minter, Jody Owens, Caleb Schreibeis and a few more. But I think the Cats will move on and have a good year with the new freshman.
This season I’m going to watch for Steven Bethley. He had 2 inceptions and a fumble recovery last year. The Cats defense I think will be the most important part of their season after losing some of their most valuable players from last year. So their defense will have to be on top.
Moving to offense. DeNarius McGhee had a great season last year; I predict the same this year. Cody Kirk is 1 touchdown short of breaking the Montana State all-time rushing touchdown record. I’m sure he’ll get it. Another player to watch is a freshman from Bozeman High School; Tanner Roderick. He was a quarterback and he will play a little wide receiver and wildcat for MSU. I look forward to seeing the offense playing the freshman. We pick up a lot of good seniors, and I think they will help the Cats to the playoffs, maybe another national championship.
The second game of the season will be against the Southern Methodist University Mustangs. Now they are a good football team. I predict that game will be the Cats 1 and only loss of the season. The Mustangs played a lot of division 1 teams last year. I predict the Cats will not have a good game and that SMU will win 24-17. I do give the Cats some chances, I hope they will win but I don’t think it will happen. I predict a good game. That game starts September 7th Saturday at 7 pm MST in Dallas TX.
I believe that it will be a good start of another successful season for Montana State University. The Cats have not won the national championship since 1984 and I believe that drought will end this year. A lot of the most important players are now seniors and it will be DeNarius McGhee, Cody Kirk and all the seniors last chance to win the title.
Everybody cheer on the Cats for another championship this year! Good luck Cats.
