Dream Out Loud

Angie Ripple

I remember my first September in Bozeman. It was a long time ago, more years than incoming MSU Freshman are old. I moved to Bozeman to attend MSU. I started with an undecided major and finished with a degree in Art and a lot of great experiences. For three of my years at MSU, I worked within the ASMSU Campus Entertainment Office. I picked comedians up at the airport, booked art exhibits, hosted events, hired and worked as a stage hand at the Fieldhouse. I was an active member of the MSU family. This May marked 17 years since I graduated from MSU with a degree in Art-Graphic Design, and on the last day of May 2019 I was gifted an MSU medallion from the Interim Assistant Dean of Arts and Architecture, JoDee Palin, confirming me as a valued alumni and part of the MSU family - forever. Pressed into one side of the medallion are the words Dream Out Loud. Because I enjoy being behind the scenes for the most part receiving the acknowledgment was an important affirmation that I have made a difference in my community, that I’m seen and heard. Being a writer and publisher requires a lot of faith and dreaming; I deeply appreciated the sentiment.

Because I am willing to Dream Out Loud, Bozeman Magazine exists. Our platform is a community resource made possible by local contributors who share their writing talents with our readers. If you have a local topic that needs attention, I’d like to hear from you. If you want to write about it and contribute to a future issue, even better. More than anything, I hope you learn something about our community by reading this issue, and I would love it if you find an event on our calendar and engage with our community. I encourage you too to dream, and live your life out loud!
