Record Store Day 2021 June 12th and July 17th

Several weeks ago, Cactus Records & Gifts (Cactus Records), a staple of the Downtown Bozeman music and arts scene for over 50 years, announced their participation in Record Store Day 2021.

Held over two “drop” dates, June 12th and July 17th, each day includes titles exclusively available to independent record stores throughout the United States and in many foreign countries, including the United Kingdom. These new and newly reissued record releases are available in limited quantities and are often available in exclusive formats. This year, in addition to many different color variants, several titles arrive in cassette, a format which continues to enjoy ample interest.

“We at Cactus Records really enjoy the buzz and excitement around Record Store Day, and the opportunity to bring some amazing, exclusive records to our customers is always the main motivation to participate, said Mike “Bueno” Good, owner, Cactus Records. “The last year has been difficult for so many, but we hope an occasion like Record Store Day can help contribute to the wonderful community of Bozeman.”

Record Store Day, 2021, will include titles from a diverse spectrum of music, including titles from many independent artists and labels. Cactus Records will open its doors at 9AM on both drop dates, and additional information can be found on their Instagram and Facebook pages as the drop dates get closer.

Record Store Day is an annual event inaugurated in 2007 to “celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store”. The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world. Bozeman Celebrates RSD at Cactus Records and Gifts and at The Wax Museum. A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, with a list of releases for each country, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event.
