Here's to 2022

Angie Ripple

Welcome to the 175th issue of Bozeman Magazine! Since June 2007, we have been telling the Bozeman story with the help of local contributing writers. Someone recently told me that the “genius” of our concept is that we allow any community member the opportunity to contribute. The magazine is different every month—you will not find canned editorial written by the same staff members in every issue. Instead, we give you a real feel for this place we call home. All of our past content remains on our website: bozemanmagazine.com, making it the best place to go for all things Bozeman.

Each issue begins with cover art featuring the work of a local artist. Inside, the editorial opens with an opinion piece submitted by a community member about a topic they care about and want to bring more attention to. We call it “What’s Your Beef?”—our version of a letter to the editor. Anyone can send us an opinion piece to be considered for publication; most pieces are about 750 words. Shorter pieces may be considered in 2022. Email us for more information, or send your Beef to info@bozemanmagazine.com.

In this issue, we’ve gathered some ideas for you to explore a new hobby, or set goals for the New Year. You’re sure to enjoy a personal story of hiking in the Crazy Mountains, along with several other features by Bozemanites. You’ll be fascinated to learn how 50 years of Shakespeare in the Parks has evolved… check out our restaurant interview with Devan Hammond, co-owner of Freshies Café and, as always, our Greater Yellowstone Events Calendar lists hundreds of events that will allow you to interact with and be a part of our community.

Thank you for picking up this issue; we hope you learn something!
