Micah Swanson and Weston Lewis
Micah Swanson is a Bozeman based singer/songwriter who is releasing his first solo album this November, 2013. Starting his career as a frontman for the acoustic folk fusion stringband, Wandering Wild, Micah is currently setting up a National tour around the Rocky Mountain circuit. “This is the time for me to do this. Playing in the presence of the mountains has given me renewed inspiration and creativity in my songwriting. I’m excited to share my music for audiences who are looking for a good time.”
Originally from Fond du Lac WI, Micah moved to Montana for the 2012 Ski Season after returning from a year long deployment to Afghanistan. LT Swanson, or “Swany” as his Soldiers called him, was in charge of leading a combat route clearance patrol in one of the most contested areas of Operation Enduring Freedom. “It stands as one of the most stretching and demanding experiences of my life but vital to my new found passions for music and being in the mountains. Its why I feel so much energy and soul coming through my music – its a direct representation of who I am and what I’ve been through.”
When not touring or playing shows with Wandering Wild, Micah stays more than busy with the Army Reserve where he serves as the Executive Officer for an Engineering Company in Montana. Aside from the Army and in between the shows, you’ll find Micah wandering in the mountains with his Dalmatian Louie exploring anything that this great land has to offer. “Life has been such a great journey so far, I can’t thank my friends, my family, my bandmates, and the amazing people of the Great State of Montana for the continued support and great times! I’m proud to say that I’m doing exactly what I love to do – Doing great things with great people in the Last Best Place on earth!”
