Russ started playing guitar and singing around the open mic scene of New England in the 1980's. Over time, his travels and tastes drew him to the music he shares in Montana. After lead vocal and guitar stints with The Salty Dogs and Stormy Creek, he found his calling with the ‘doghouse’ bass. Russ is now a regular with the Two Bit Franks and Little Jane & The Pistol Whips. Russ released his first solo album in 2009 called "The Closest Thing I Have" but more than anything else, he calls himself lucky to be part of an amazing group of Montana musicians. http://www.reverbnation.com/russgrass
