Acony Belles is an acoustic band of dynamic women featuring Jody Engstrom on bass, Betsy Wise on guitar, and Molly Grove on mandolin. Dazzling female vocal harmonies take center stage in their arrangements of bluegrass, folk, and soulful Americana tunes. Acony Belles is inspired by great female artists including Red Molly, Wailin’ Jennies, Della Mae, and Gillian Welch. In fact, the band name stems from a Gillian Welch song about an Appalachian wildflower, “Known as the brave Acony Bell.”
