RYAN MATZINGER, a singer-songwriter, jazz saxophonist, recording/touring artist, teacher, producer and studio engineer, Ryan was born and raised in Bozeman and had been living and recording in southern CA for 11 years until his recent return to Bozeman. Through journeys with industry stars, and studies with music legends, Ryan has developed as a contemporary indie artist belonging to the growing community of genre-melding performers that are taking music back to its roots, while exploring the art form of Jazz and its connection to the history and sociological condition of America. As one of the last remaining members of the iconic rock group Ike Turner and The Kings of Rhythm, RYAN was on the Grammy Award winning 2007 album, Risin' With the Blues. The very first performer at the inaugural Jazz MT concert, and now the President of Jazz Montana, and MSU Professor of Saxophone Studies and Jazz Band, RYAN generously devotes his time and hard-earned reputation to help ensure the wealthy legacy of jazz in the Gallatin Valley and Montana.
