Joan Williams, What Works for Women at Work

ADVANCE Project TRACS at Montana State University is featuring keynote speaker, Joan Williams on April 23 from 7-8 (with a book signing to follow), who will discuss WorkLife Law as it relates to family law practices and work-life integration in the public and private sector. We're hoping you'll invite your colleagues at the Downtown Business Association so we can engage in a community wide discussion about how important work-life integration is to the employees in Bozeman. Williams joins us from UC Hastings College of Law where she serves as the founding director of the Center for WorkLife Law. She's played a central role in reshaping the debates over women's advancement for the past quarter-century. Her eight books include What works for Women at Work: Four Patterns Working Women Need to Know (2014). Williams wears many other hats including Distinguished Professor of Law and Hastings Foundation Chair at the Hastings College of Law. In addition to the several books she's authored or co-authored, Williams has written well over ninety academic articles and book chapters including one in 1996 that has become one of the most cited law review articles ever written. Furthermore, she led the led the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's 2007 Guidance on Caregiver Discrimination.
