On October 2nd of this year, the Used Furniture Store (UFS), is hosting a fundraising event for the Uganda Orphans Fund (UOF).  The UOF is a 501(c) (3) non-profit foundation dedicated to the rescue and care of Ugandan orphans and other vulnerable children. Uganda has more than 37 million people; by comparison, Montana has less than one million. Many are young abandoned children struggling to find a safe place to sleep at night. Other children are sold into rebel armies and brainwashed to assist in village massacres. Females are forced to serve as subjugate wives. There is a daily fight not only for basic needs but for their childhood innocence. The UOF provides shelter in every sense of the word, including education.  The young eight year old girl can now be free from shame and live in the orphanage community with people who show her love, affirmation, and provide the education she needs to have promise and a future.  

Most charities give only 79% of their donations to those they serve, the UOF stands out by giving over 90% of all donations directly to children. That money goes towards education, food, housing, clean water, medical supplies, and more. UOF was also established by a Bozeman resident, who takes no income and travels to Uganda to manage and develop these projects multiple times a year.

A ticket purchase includes appetizers, wine/beer, dinner, and desert. The evening includes a silent auction. If you are not interested in participating in the silent auction, your ticket purchase is still a great donation!
