Gallatin Art Crossing Fall Art Lecture series: Art v. Architecture

The Gallatin Art Crossing begins our Fall Art Lecture series, on Wednesday, December 9 at 7pm in the Bozeman Public Library’s large community room. The fall series will feature panels of regional artists and members of the creative community who are promoting art and the value and impact it has on the Gallatin Valley. These lectures will also have a theme for each monthly lecture and refreshments from Montucky Coldsnacks will be provided.

The 2nd lecture in the series will feature a panel discussion about “Art v. Architecture.” This interactive discussion will bring together several community members who are deeply interested and invested in this topic. Join us to hear from the experts: EJ Engler, local sculptor with an architecture background, John Montoya, architect with Ensitio Design, Vaughan Judge, director of the School of Art at MSU, Ken VanDeWalle, local architect and designer of several GVLT bridges, Brett Potter architect and owner of Focus Architects, Richard Parrish, owner of and designer for Fusio Studio.

The Art Crossing’s mission is to place public art that enhances the cultural experience for Bozeman area residents and visitors to the Gallatin Valley. It hosts a variety of artwork throughout the downtown Bozeman area, introducing viewers to many artistic approaches. In addition to helping artists display and market their work, the Gallatin Art Crossing connects the public to an open voting opportunity for the selection of the People’s Choice award.  For more info, please visit  www.gallatinartcrossing.org.

The Gallatin Art Crossing currently exhibit hosts over 70 pieces, introducing viewers to many artistic approaches in the free public gallery. The goal is to add one piece annually to the permanent collection of sculptures, which can be found throughout downtown from the Emerson Cultural Center down to the Bozeman Public Library.

The lecture series is presented by the Gallatin Art Crossing and hosted by the Bozeman Public Library with drinks provided by Montucky Coldsnacks. Contact Tate Chamberlin at tate@tatechamberlin.com or Paula Beswick at   director@bozemanlibraryfoundation.org or 582-2426 for more information about the lecture series or visit   www.gallatinartcrossing.org for more info on the Art Crossing.
