How & Why to Talk With Kids About Tobacco

Big tobacco cannot market most of their products on TV, billboards, or in magazines. Instead, spend over $1 Million EACH hour advertising in the retail environment. What’s that mean in Gallatin County? Find out how tobacco advertising in retail outlets impacts teen tobacco use and what you can do about it. Study after study confirm: parents make a BIG difference in the choices their kids make. Get comfortable talking about alcohol, tobacco, illegal & harmful drugs. Find out what your child thinks. Clearly explain how using these substances can interfere with grades, cause problems in relationships with friends and tear families apart. Join in Monday, January 18th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Alcohol and Drug Services of Gallatin County, 2310 North 7th, Bozeman. Do you have questions or concerns about e-cigarettes?  Bring them along and learn what Public Health knows about e-cigarettes along with evidence-based methods for quitting tobacco from Jennifer McFarlane of our City/County Health Department. ADSGC sponsors a FREE workshop for parents, grandparents & guardians on the 3rd Monday of each month. New topics covered each month. Participants are entered in to a drawing for door prizes. Call Jennifer at the Adolescent Resource Center, 586-5908, to pre-register.
