Valentine Ukulele Night
The Bozeman Ukulele Cabaret hosts its Valentine ukulele open mic and play-along from 7 to 9 pm, Friday, Feb. 12 at Wild Joe’s Coffeehouse in Bozeman.
The public is invited to cheer performers, vote for favorite songs, or bring a uke and join in on play-along songs. The theme “Songs for Lovers, Lonely Hearts and Heartbreak Survivors” will include lots of familiar tunes.
In its fifth year, this annual love fest offers a chance to warm up Valentine weekend and strum away the winter chill, with or without a date. The evening includes an open-mic roster as well as play-along songs that everyone in the house can join in on. Anyone can bring a ukulele and croon along. Chord charts and lyrics are provided, so you don’t have to be a virtuoso.
Open mic performers are guaranteed a warm reception in the all-ukulele open mic cabaret. Prizes for “Saddest Song,” “Sweetest Song” and “Valentine Attire” will be decided by audience ballot. Performers can sign up in advance online, or grab remaining available slots at the door starting at 6pm.
The event is free and open to the public. All are welcome to come, sing along and cheer ukulele performers.
