Michael Keaton leads ensemble cast in 'Spotlight'

Bozeman Film Society will screen Spotlight, the riveting true story behind the Pulitzer prize-winning Boston Globe investigation that would rock the city and cause a crisis in one of the world’s oldest and most trusted institutions, at 7:30 pm Wednesday, February 17 at the Ellen Theatre. When the newspaper’s tenacious “Spotlight” team of reporters delves into allegations of abuse in the Catholic Church, their year-long investigation uncovers a decades-long cover-up at the highest levels of Boston's religious, legal, and government establishment, touching off a wave of revelations around the world. Directed by Academy Award-nominee Tom McCarthy, Spotlight is a tense investigative dramatic-thriller, tracing the steps to one of the biggest cover-ups in modern times. The film stars Michael Keaton, Mark Ruffalo, Rachel McAdams, Liev Schreiber, John Slattery, Brian d’Arcy James, Billy Crudup and Stanley Tucci. Nominated for six Academy Awards, Spotlight has garnered three Golden Globes and a SAG award for Best Ensemble. New York Times film critic A.O. Scott states, "Spotlight is a gripping detective story and a superlative newsroom drama," while Deadline film critic Pete Hommond calls Spotlight, "Masterful, with a superb ensemble cast." This R rated film (which runs 127 minutes) earned a 96% from Rotten Tomatoes.
