'Paper Tigers' Documentary

Please join us in celebrating Family Promise's 10 years of service in the Gallatin Valley with refreshments and a FREE screening of the documentary Paper Tigers. This film takes an intimate look at an alternative school in Walla Walla, WA for “kids with a history of truancy, substance abuse and childhood trauma. The school’s struggle with poor academic performance and behavior issues sparked a shift toward abandoning (most) punitive responses. The results? Seventy-five percent fewer fights and three times as many college-bound graduates” (Seattle Times). See the trailer at http://www.papertigersmovie.com/ How can we turn adversity into resiliency? It’s time we, as a community, start looking through a different lens. Please join us on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Emerson. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the film will begin at 6:00 p.m. Whether you are a parent, community professional or just interested in how you can make a difference in the lives of youth, this film will inspire thought, discussion and a new perspective. Please register at http://www.familypromisegv.org/paper-tigers/ Thank you to our collaborative partners, ECCC (Early Childhood Community Council) and our film sponsor St. James Episcopal Church.
