Lecture: A Reflection on Across the Andes

Lecture with reception to follow

Andes Mountains, south of the equator, a journey that lasted nearly two years and 7,800 miles. Following the spine of the longest mountain chain in the world, they were forced to battle crippling illnesses and highly unforgiving terrain. Traveling to remote villages in the Andes, they experienced first hand the lives of a people who have been living for centuries using sustainable methods.

Gregg and Deia were named National Geographic Adventurers of the year in 2008. Their trek has been documented by Wend, Backpacker, and Outside Magazines and is the subject of MOR’s current changing exhibit, Across the Andes. Join Gregg, Executive Director of Adventurers and Scientists for Conservation, and Deia, documentary filmmaker and producer of Josh Fox’s latest film, How to Let Go of the World or 9 Things Climate Can’t Change for an evening reflecting on their adventure in the Andes and what they have done in the years since this incredible journey.
