Singer Songwriters Amber Ikeman & John Hosking
Bozeman, MT – Local singer songwriters Amber Ikeman and John Hosking will provide an evening of acoustic guitar, rich vocals, and original work on Sunday evening, September 18th at Congregation Beth Shalom. Back by popular demand after a sold-out spring concert, the two will once again provide a mix of their own work and a few duets as well. John Hosking is well-known regionally for the original music he wrote and performed while directing and acting in the Vigilante Theatre Company. Since 2005, Hosking has grown his own repertoire of original folk and Americana. Fans love his new work and the freedom he’s found in growing his own unique sound. His diverse lyrics call to mind familiar mountain ranges, nights by the campfire, and plenty of adventures on the road. He’ll share several new works at the September concert. Known for her soulful vocals and raw lyrics, Amber Ikeman (www.amberikeman.com) is a contemporary folk singer songwriter with classical voice and musical theatre training. Her latest album Free was co-produced with Chris Cunningham in 2015 and is rich with the story songs she’s known for. Her lyrics are, in turns, both gritty and sweet, inspired by 30,000 miles of road tripping and touring the U.S. as a musician over the past two years. While still frequently touring, Ikeman is putting down roots in Bozeman. That includes offering classical voice training to local students. She will showcase one of her voice students, Kathryn Isley, in a short performance and free Vocal Master Class demonstration prior to the concert on September 18th. Concert venue is at 2010 West Koch. Amber Ikeman’s Master Class demonstration begins at 6:15 p.m. Doors open for the main concert at 6:45, music begins at 7:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided between sets. Suggested donation $15.00. For more information about the concert or the Vocal Master Class demo, please email: amber@amberikeman.com.
