Gregory Young, Faculty Clarinet Recital "The Clarinet in Rare Contexts"
A unique program of new music for clarinet in rare contexts will feature Gregory Young, clarinet and friends. The program will start with morning bird sounds from the Triple Tree trail recorded by MSU electrical and computer engineering department head Robert Maher, accompanied by clarinet. Stacy Montagne AuCoin will join Young, playing singing bowls inspired by their rim-to-rim run across the Grand Canyon in 2015. Plant scientist Gary Strobel will play didgeridoo on a collaborative new composition that he and Young composed this year. The concert will conclude with a short three-movement duo by Young's father, David. Guaranteed to be an innovative program, we are sure you will enjoy it.
