Frances Stewart Quartet

Frances Stewart will be bringing her quartet to the Cikan House on Saturday, November 19th. The audience will be treated to a variety of musical styles, from high-energy jazz to soulful ballads and sultry blues, performed by these accomplished veterans of the Montana music scene. Vocalist Frances Stewart first hit the Bozeman music scene in 1981 with the Jackson Hole group, Flexible Flyer. She has performed with the Rhythm Rockers, Poco Loco and her group, the ReArrangers, which was featured in the 2009 Jazz Montana Concert. She is the creator of KIDSING, a music and movement program for preschoolers, and she is currently the music teacher at Malmborg School. Pianist and composer Bob Nell has performed with many jazz luminaries and recorded many albums and CD’s of original music. He has appeared on the BRAVO and BET networks and was featured in the Montana PBS music series, “11th and Grant”, presenting a solo concert of original music. Currently he performs with many local ensembles, including the Bridger Mountain Big Band, Montana Jazz Collective, groups led by Frances Stewart, and the Bob Nell Trio. Bassist Eddie T an original member of Backburner has also performed with Cyril Neville, the Drifters, and the Platters. He has recorded on hundreds of tracks with various artists and is also an instructor at Bozeman Music Lessons. Saxophonist Jake Fleming has been active in the Bozeman music community as a performer, teacher, writer and producer since 1992. Currently he performs with Pinky and the Floyd and and The Tiny Band, among others. He devotes his life to his family and to music, education, yoga and the contemplative practices.
