New Works in Oil by Paul Reevis Four Winds Gallery, Emerson Center, 111 S. Grand Ave. Art Walk Reception: Friday, Dec. 9, 5-8 p.m. Paul Reevis is an enrolled member of the Blackfeet Tribe who comes from a lineage of Blackfeet Cultural practitioners. Reevis's artistic expressions are combinations of representative western art, American Indian (Blackfeet) Norman Rockwell-like depictions of the American living environment, and American Indian Conceptual Art that conveys the traditional and contemporary aspect of American Indian (Blackfeet) Cultural Mythology. Reevis attended Blackfeet Community College in Browning, Montana and continued his higher education at the Institute of American Indian Art at Santa Fe, New Mexico, and at the San Francisco Art Institute in California. His book, American Indian Artist, Firefighter at the turn of the New Millennium: A Memoir is illustrated with twenty- four original oil paintings by Reevis that convey the nature of the modern American Indian experience.
