WaterWorks Gabriel Canal
Walk through the Kelly ranch and experience performances, music and a light installation about water and irrigation in Southwestern Montana.
The project made with and about the Gallatin Valley’s agricultural community will shed light on their current environmental perspectives and the function of the Valley’s canal system.
Your guide will lead you through scenes, directed by Mary Ellen Strom, set to original music by Gregory Young that explores the history of water use and drought on the landscape and celebrates the agricultural legacy of the Valley. The performance culminates at dusk in a large-scale performance of a late 19th-century harvest scene and the illumination of the Gabriel Canal.
