Livingston Jazz Education Festival
Livingston Jazz Education Festival
November 3 at 7 PM - 10 PM
Livingston Depot
The Livingston Jazz Festival focuses on a strong combination of performance, education, and improvisation within the jazz language. Throughout the day, there will be performances, clinics and master classes with our guest artists. This year, we have a truly world-class lineup of Jazz performers and educators culminating in an unforgettable evening performance by member of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, woodwind artist Victor Goines and Eastman Director of Jazz Studies, Clay Jenkins on Trumpet.
In addition to Mr. Goines and Mr. Jenkins the festival will also feature Rob Tapper on Trombone (Missoula, MT: University of Montana, Director of Jazz Studies), Craig Hall on Guitar (Bozeman, MT: Professional Educator and Musician), Eric Olsen on Piano (Billings, MT: Professional Educator, Musician, Composer), Emma Dayhuff on Bass (New York, NY), and Marion Felder on Drums (New York, NY). These musicians have international experience performing and educating; bringing their respect for the tradition with original yet swinging music.

During the afternoon for the education portion of the festival, each participating band will be given a 20 minute performance followed by a 40 minute critique with our guest artists! (Please note: due to facility limitations, the festival will only be open to 10 high/middle school big bands and 4 jazz combos.) Register soon to reserve your spot (see below)!
To conclude the festival there will be a spectacular performance by festival clinicians and guest artists that evening: Friday, November 3rd at 7:00pm in the Livingston Depot with a late-night jam session to follow.
