Freedom in the Groove

What is "The Good Life" for humans, and how can we try to live it? How can groups of humans with different ideas about The Good Life - including belief in God - live alongside each other? The history of both philosophy and theology show a constant and wide-ranging concern for these questions. Professor David Wilmington will use music and video examples to show that Jazz has much to teach us about defining and practicing an inspired and hopeful vision of The Good Life. This public lecture aims to provoke fresh ways of thinking about and discussing ethics, religious belief, and politics.
