Rodeo Shoot & Lecture

Get a little dirt on your boots, a smile on your face and some outstanding pictures at one of Montana's most photogenic rodeos with F-11 Photo’s Becca Tatarka and Doug Bundren. First, meet at F-11 Photo & The Print Refinery™ for a 1.5 hour session to learn about the decisive moment, the best ISO settings, shutter speed versus aperture priority mode, and how to compose the ideal rodeo photograph. Bozeman native, photographer and instructor Becca Tatarka was a member of the Montana State University Rodeo Team. She knows what’s proper arena etiquette for shooting at any rodeo event as well as how to safely be around livestock. Get first hand understanding of rodeo athletes, find out how to recognize the peak of action, freeze it, and which focusing modes to use. Explore the countless photo opportunities beyond the arena including still life, candid portraits, detail shots and color abstracts. Becca and F-11 Photo co-owner Doug Bundren will be onsite at the rodeo to help with questions, creativity and inspiration. After the rodeo, there is an optional meet up at one of the Gardiner watering holes to share success, near misses and photos of the day. Location TBD.
