Macro Photography Basics + Nature Shoot on Fairy Creek

Celebrate summer and find out how to create larger than life photos from the constantly evolving world at your feet. From tips and tools to hands-on experience in the field, get a quick introduction to macro photography. Explore the basics, along with composition, lighting, color and more so you can the capture crisp, close-up shots you have wanted. Then, take your newly acquired skills into the field and learn while doing, using fun guided drills. Macro photography changes the way you see the trails you travel, guaranteed. Macro Basics begins with a Friday night session at F-11 Photo & The Print Refinery™ presented by your instructor, Katherine Milledge. Saturday, roll out of bed early for a morning of guided. Saturday, roll out of bed early for a morning of guided photographic play at a breathtaking private location in the foothills on the east slope of the Bridger Mountains. Get encouragement to take on some new challenges, like learning to photograph hummingbirds. Katherine and additional F-11 Photo staff members will be on site so you can get immediate feedback on your photos as you practice and play. Meet at F-11 Photo & The Print Refinery™ at 5:30 a.m. Saturday morning to caravan to the location, about 30 miles from Bozeman through Bridger Canyon on Highway 86. Travel is on your own and car pooling is encouraged. The field session runs until about 10 a.m., followed by a critique of the day's work. Bring enough water and snacks to make sure that you make it through the workshop conclusion, typically around 12 p.m.
