Our Yellowstone presents Steven Jackson

Our Yellowstone is a unique series of arts and cultural programming, speakers, and exhibits in celebration of our First National Park. Steven Jackson is Curator of Art and Photography at the Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University. Mr. Jackson’s research and curation focus include historic and contemporary art and photography, studio furniture, early Yellowstone National Park photography and history, and the preservation and management of art and photograph collections. He will present “The Early Photography of Yellowstone.” Beginning with the first photographs of Yellowstone by William H. Jackson in 1871, the mysterious land of the Yellowstone became a visual reality. The early photography of Jackson, Crissman, Calfee, Haynes, and others exposed the beautiful, mysterious, and fascinating land of the Yellowstone to a worldwide audience.
