Our Yellowstone Children’s Activity Day

Our Yellowstone is a unique series of arts and cultural programming, speakers, and exhibits in celebration of our First National Park. Just for Kids! Explore the natural world and learn about our backyard park—Yellowstone—with instructors from Yellowstone Forever, the park’s official nonprofit partner. Activities include: Tree ID Hike Receive a key to identify trees, a map, and a challenge before setting out on a hike to find various tree species near the Library. Rock Investigation Handle many different types of rocks from the Yellowstone area, discover the volcanic forces that formed them, and view crystals and other details with magnifying glasses. Bird Feeder Crafts Build your own bird feeder while learning fun facts about migratory birds found in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and how to create habitat for these birds at home. Wild Wapiti Get to know the wildlife of Yellowstone with this lively, instructor-led game designed just for kids. Yellowstone ABC’s Join Wildernessa and Ranger Rick to play the wildlife A to Z game of Yellowstone.
