2018 Fall Orser Speaker

The Jake Jabs College of Business & Entrepreneurship is pleased to announce its fall Orser speaker, David B. Orser '66. His presentation, "Globalization is here: A discussion on international business and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act," will take place on Wednesday, October 17 at 5:30 pm in Jabs Hall 111, on the MSU campus. This event is free and open to the public. A 1966 business graduate and recipient of an honorary doctorate in 1989, David B. Orser is a former president of Occidental Oil International and an independent businessman working with oil claims in the Middle East. He has over 25 years of experience working in the oil industry and another 10 years as a consultant for companies including GE and even Muhammad Ali. David has traveled the world and lived in Libya and London. He returned to Montana after retiring. David Orser will share his experiences with international business, globalization, and the oil industry. He will talk about the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and how it impacts businesses around the world. Born in Pryor, Montana, David Orser went to school at MSU. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Commerce and obtained his CPA certificate before graduation. David then earned an M.A. in international relations from the University of Southern California. Orser believed that his education at the MSU Business College was further enhanced by information and connections he made when his professors would invite guest speakers to the classroom. The Orser Executive Speakers Forum is a continuing component of a program begun in 1988 to bring leaders to the College of Business to inspire students, so that they might enthusiastically pursue careers as innovative, responsible and ethical business leaders. This forum is one of the featured celebratory events taking place in October to highlight the JJCBE and the 125th anniversary of MSU.
