The Art of the Handwritten Note
When was the last time you put pen to paper to express thanks, congratulations, or just tell someone that you miss them?
Our modern world offers us so many convenient ways to connect, but nothing will ever replace the personal touch of a handwritten note. This workshop will include discussion and brainstorming; most of the time will be dedicated to cozy, undistracted writing.
When: Sunday, March 10 – 2:00 to 4:00 pm
Where: Country Bookshelf, 28 W. Main St.
Cost: $12, and includes two cards of your choice from the Country Bookshelf’s abundant selection of cards for every occasion
Sign up: Call 587-0166 or email staff@countrybookshelf.com; space is limited
Bring: Your favorite pen
Bonus: Participants will receive 10% off additional cards, stationery, and pens from 1:00 to 5:00
Facilitator: Kate Wiggins is a southern gal whose mama raised her right, which included imparting an appreciation for heartfelt handwritten notes. In 2012, she challenged herself to write 365 letters, and while some were only a sentence or two long, she did it. And as a successful new year’s resolution is meant to do, it instilled a habit that persists seven years later. No word yet on attempts to curtail chocolate consumption (another affinity learned from her mama).
Kate lives in Bozeman with her fluffy pal Julia Sugarbaker, whose lack of thumbs forces her to deliver her thanks in licks.
Cost: $12 -must sign up in advance
