MSU Wonderlust: Tchaikovsky Opera
Montana State University’s Wonderlust will host a Preludes and Performances event focusing on an opera by famed Russian composer Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky.
“Behind the Scenes of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin” will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 21, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 325 N. 25th Ave. in Bozeman. The event is free and open to the public.
Guest artists from Intermountain Opera Bozeman will give an in-depth presentation on the Russian opera “Eugene Onegin,” discussing details on the plot as well as musical and cultural influences. The discussion will also include their interpretations of the work, and artists will talk about the process of producing the opera. In addition, musicians will share excerpts from the score.
