Wave of Light
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month. On the evening of October 15th, people all over the world take an hour to participate in an International Wave of Light.
At 7pm in each time zone, people light a candle in memory of a pregnancy or baby gone too soon. This creates a wave of light around the globe in memory of the precious little ones and the impact they have had on our lives.
For the Wave of Light in Gallatin Valley, we will meet at Roots Family Collaborative's Community Room, 110 S. Grand Ave, Second floor at 6:30 PM. We invite you to join us as we welcome all families who have experienced loss. At 6:45 we will head outside (weather dependent) for a short candle ceremony. After our ceremony we invite you to join us back inside for refreshments, connection, and sharing.
We will provide small votive candles or you may bring your own. Feel free to add your child's name or birth date to a decorated jar for an extra bright light or simply bring a flashlight and join us.
This is a family friendly event! It is open to anyone who has been touched by a pregnancy or infant loss. Please come light a candle in honor of your sisters and brothers, nieces and nephews, grandchildren and friends.
