Porcupine Creek Snowshoe with GYC
Join us Sunday, March 8th as we explore the Custer Gallatin National Forest on a snowshoe stroll up Porcupine Creek! Our hike will total about 5 miles of rolling hills and is appropriate for most hikers used to traveling in snowy conditions. We'll leave the trailhead just southeast of Big Sky at 9am and return around 2pm. All hikers must come prepared with warm, waterproof clothing, food and water, bear spray, snow boots, and, of course, snowshoes. We’re looking to keep the group together, so leave those skis at home!
Our trek will take us into the Gallatin’s Wilderness Study Area for a chance to spot some wildlife while learning how we can help shape this special place’s future. The next step in the Custer Gallatin National Forest’s planning process is expected to start around the same time, and there’s no better place to learn about it than in the mountains themselves.
If you’d like to join, you must RSVP by emailing Ryan Cruz at rcruz@greateryellowstone.org by Thursday, March 5th. I’ll send out final details and a map to the trailhead that Friday. Spaces are available on a first-come-first-serve basis, so holler!
