Gallatin Refugee Connections Collection

Gallatin Refugee Connections, in cooperation with Soft Landing Missoula and the International Rescue Committee (IRC), is sponsoring a collection drive to help refugee families start their new lives in Missoula.

Most refugees arrive with next to nothing —sometimes just the clothes on their backs. Soft Landing and IRC give them a start. GRC will be collecting household goods to set up newly-arrived families. These items will help get them started in their new lives and speed their integration into the community.

Those wishing to help can team up with friends to donate an entire room kit, or just donate an item or two—see lists of needed items at gallatinrefugeeconnections.org/irckit. All donations are tax deductible. Those interested in volunteering and churches or organizations wishing to participate can contact GRC at 406 209 0971.

On Saturday, March 27 volunteers will meet at Pilgrim Church to assemble kits. Donations can be dropped off at Pilgrim (2118 S. 3rd, Bozeman) 9am-4pm Mar. 27 or BEFORE that date at collection points around the valley.

Collection points so far are:

Steep Mountain Teahouse, 402 E Main
Pilgrim UCC, 2118 S 3rd Ave (9 am to 3 pm)
Resurrection University Catholic Parish, 1725 S 11th Ave.

As more collection points are added they will be listed in the Gallatin Refugee Connections Facebook page.
