Business and Pleasure: Bozeman's Historic Red-Light District
Join us for a tour through Bozeman’s historic demi-monde and learn about the lives of the many women who made this district their home.
Join The Extreme History Project for a walking tour through Bozeman’s historic demi-monde or red-light district. We’ll see where the ladies lived and worked and recount the lives of the many women who made this district their home. You’ll hear stories of success, failure, independence, and tragedy. These women were not only residents of the tenderloin but they were financially substantial contributors to our community. The “restricted” district thrived from the 1870s until the early 20th century when the occupants of the red-light district, both the ladies-of-the-evening and the Chinese were forced out and the houses were closed up for good. We will end the tour at the Kitty Warren Social Club and those 21 and over can venture down for a drink (if open).
