Classic Literature Book Club
The Classic Literature Book Club focuses on literature that has withstood the test of time and continues to be relevant. If you always wanted to read, and discuss such books, the Classic Literature Book Club might be the book club for you. We meet on the third Saturday of the month from 10:15 until noon in the 2nd floor Board Room. Contact Jan Light at bozemanclbc@gmail.com for more information.
Saturday, September 18, Classic Literature Book Club reads, For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway.
This book is available to borrow in several formats from Bozeman Public Library, including in print, on CD, and in movie form, starring Montana native Gary Cooper. Stream the recent Ken Burns documentary about Ernest Hemingway free of charge at PBS.org. Look for critical analysis at the Library's database Hoopla in ebook form.
“There is nothing else than now. There is neither yesterday, certainly, nor is there any tomorrow. How old must you be before you know that? There is only now, and if now is only two days, then two days is your life and everything in it will be in proportion. This is how you live a life in two days. And if you stop complaining and asking for what you never will get, you will have a good life. A good life is not measured by any biblical span.”
