Building Blocks BZN aims to bring community members together through neighborhood hosted block parties
Bozeman, MT – In celebration of Good Neighbor Day the City of Bozeman Public Library, Neighborhoods Program, and Parks & Recreation are teaming up to host a block party at Oak Springs Park from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28th.
The block party will be located at Oak Springs Park on the west side of Bozeman. There will be food from The Ugly Onion available for purchase, groovy music for dancing by Bozambique, and fun for all ages, including the Bozeman Library bookmobile and the Parks and Rec mobile. All are welcome and neighbors are encouraged to bike, walk, or car share.
Building Blocks BZN is an initiative at the City of Bozeman to encourage and support neighbors in hosting their own block parties to build connection in their neighbors. This year, neighborhoods interested in throwing a block party in their area can get the $35 permit fee waived. Visit the City’s website for a step-by-step guide on how to host.
Neighborhoods Coordinator Dani Hess says, “After a long hiatus from in-person gatherings, and a busy summer coming to a close, block parties are a fun way to safely gather outdoors and connect with the folks in your neighborhood.”
Good Neighbor Day is an annual nationwide celebration that promotes connection, community, and positive relationships in our neighborhoods. It is held in September each year, and is recognized in different ways all around the country.
