Personal Trainer Workshop
As part of the National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer Certification program, Montana State University will host a workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the North Dome Fitness Center on its campus.
The workshop is open to the public, but registration is required. Attendees can sign as part of the certification process, or they can attend the workshop on its own.
The in-person event will include hands-on demonstrations and practical applications of one-on-one training. In addition to the workshop, the certification includes a textbook with an online course. Full completion of the online course is not required to attend the workshop.
The personal trainer certification covers basic and applied sciences; nutrition concepts; client relations and behavioral coaching; exercise assessment, program design and technique; training instruction; and professional development and responsibility.
Participants have six months with up to two attempts to pass the written exam for the NASM Personal Trainer Certification, which is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
The fee for the workshop is $99, and the fee for both the certification and workshop is $699. To register, visit montana.edu/getfit.
