All About 'Big Al': The Chronicles of a Jurassic Carnivore

Long before the time of T. rex, the carnivorous dinosaur Allosaurus prowled North America. In this presentation, join MOR's John R. Horner Curator of Paleontology Dr. John Scannella on a trip back to the Jurassic Period and encounter the Allosaurus known as 'Big Al', an animal that continues to impact our understanding of the Age of Dinosaurs. Discoveries made by paleontologists continue to shed new light on the deep past of the planet and the creatures that arose here. This speaker series explores recent findings and current hypotheses as conveyed by scientists who are actively exploring how life on Earth has changed through time and what the fossils of extinct organisms can teach us about the world today. Refreshments are provided post-lecture during the speaker meet and greet. Registration is strongly encouraged. Wearing a face mask is suggested in the lecture hall.
