Fire Festival: Learn About Wildfires
Bozeman Public Library is pleased to present its first ever festival, focusing on fire education. Come learn from experts in the community. Join us at select times June 23-28 in BPL's Large Community Room.
Thursday, June 23, 6:30 PM: Bozeman Public Library welcomes Kelly Dorsi, Air Research and Monitoring Section Supervisor of the Montana Department of Environmental Quality to talk about Air Quality Monitoring and the Department of Environmental Quality’s open burn policies.
Saturday, June 25
11:00AM: Learn about fire preparedness with the Bozeman Fire Department! Cameron Gallegos of the Bozeman Fire Department will provide information about how we can better protect and safeguard our homes and families. This program applies to everyone, regardless of whether you will be directly impacted by wildfires or live in the middle of Bozeman.
1:00PM: Bozeman Public Library welcomes Julia Berkeley, Community Preparedness and Wildfire Prevention Program Manager at the Montana Department of the Natural Resources and Conservation, to present on building a fire adapted community.
2:00PM: Bozeman Public Library welcomes Dustin Tetrault of the Big Sky Fire Department to discuss ignition resistant building and defensible space.
3:00PM: Bozeman Public Library welcomes Bozeman Health certified pediatric nurse practitioner, Lynne Foss, to talk about the effects of smoky air and give us some tips on improving our experiences during fire season.
Tuesday, June 28, 6:30 PM: Bozeman Public Library welcomes John Cataldo, Yellowstone National Park Fire Management Officer to talk about how the National Park Service approaches fire management.
